Volkswagen models we make keys for include: Jetta, Passat, Tiguan, Atlas, Golf, GTI, Beetle, Taos, Atlas Cross Sport — and more. Tell us the year and model and we confirm.
Volkswagen keys we make
- Flip keys — the folding key VW has used for years on the Jetta, Passat, Golf, Beetle and Tiguan, with the remote and chip in the head.
- Transponder keys — fixed-blade keys with a chip for older VWs.
- Keyless entry and push-to-start fobs — on many newer Atlas, Tiguan, Passat and Jetta trims.
- Emergency key blades hidden inside keyless fobs, cut to your door lock.
Common Volkswagen key calls
Key won't turn or is stuck in the ignition. A worn ignition lock cylinder is a common problem on many older VWs. It's also one of our specialties — we diagnose it at the car and repair or replace the cylinder. More on ignition repair.
Flip key blade broken. The hinge on VW flip keys wears out, and the blade flops or snaps. We rebuild the key in a new shell or make a new one.
Remote buttons stopped working. Sometimes a new battery and a resync are all it needs, and sometimes the remote board has failed. We test it before selling you a new key.
Why not the Volkswagen dealer?
The VW dealer usually needs the car on site, which means a tow if the key is lost or the ignition won't turn, plus an appointment and a wait for parts. For most models we come to you, cut and program the key or fix the ignition on-site — often for about half the dealer's price. If your newer VW truly needs the dealer, we tell you that on the phone.
