Honda models we make keys for include: Civic, Accord, CR-V, HR-V, Pilot, Odyssey, Fit, Ridgeline, Passport — and more. Tell us the year and model and we confirm.
Honda keys we make
- Transponder keys — Hondas from about the late 1990s on have a chip in the key head that the car must recognize before it starts.
- Remote head keys — the one-piece key with lock, unlock and panic buttons used on many 2000s and 2010s Civic, Accord, CR-V and Odyssey models.
- Flip keys — a folding blade with the remote built in, found on some newer turn-key Civic, CR-V and HR-V trims.
- Smart keys (push-to-start) — keyless fobs on most newer Accord, Civic, CR-V, Pilot and Odyssey trims, with an emergency blade inside that we cut to your door lock.
Common Honda key calls
Key won't turn in the ignition. This is one of the most frequent Honda calls we get. A worn key, a worn ignition cylinder, or both can cause it. We figure out which one it is and handle the fix — see ignition repair.
Remote head key falling apart. Buttons wear through and the plastic head cracks after years of use. We can often replace the key and program the new remote, so you are not taping an old key together.
No spare for a used Honda. Many used Hondas in South Florida are sold with a single key. Adding a second key while the first one still works is simpler and cheaper than waiting until all keys are lost.
Why not the Honda dealer?
A Honda dealer can make a key, but with no working key the car usually has to be towed there, and then you wait for an appointment. If the real problem is a worn ignition, the dealer may quote a whole new ignition assembly and keys. We come to your car, test the key and the ignition, and cut and program on-site — often for about half the dealer's price.
