Lexus models we make keys for include: RX, ES, NX, IS, GX, LX, GS, LS — and more. Tell us the year and model and we confirm.
Lexus keys we make
- Master and valet keys — older turn-key ES, RX, GS and LS models came with full-access master keys plus a limited valet key, each with a transponder chip in the head.
- High-security blades — many Lexus keys use an internally cut (laser-cut) blade with a track down the middle instead of notches on the edge. We cut them on the machine in our vehicle.
- Smart keys (push-to-start) — Lexus fobs that unlock the doors and start the car from your pocket, used on most RX, ES, IS, GX, LX and NX models from the mid-2000s on, depending on year and trim.
- Card keys — a wallet-sized key offered on some newer models, added alongside the regular fob where the car supports it.
Common Lexus key calls
Down to the valet key. Used Lexus sedans and SUVs often change hands with a single key, and sometimes it's only the valet key. We make a master key so the trunk, glove box and every door lock work again.
Key battery warning on the dash. Lexus shows a message when the smart key battery runs low. A fresh coin cell usually clears it. If the fob keeps dropping out or the case is cracked, we test it and replace it only when it has actually failed.
Only smart key lost. We build a new key at the car, program it, and, where the system allows, erase the missing fob so it can no longer start your Lexus. We confirm by year and model before sending a technician.
Why not the Lexus dealer?
Key work at a Lexus dealer still means getting the car into the service department — on a flatbed if no key is left — and replacement smart keys are often ordered by VIN, which can add days. We come to your home, office or parking garage with keys and programming equipment for many Lexus models, and cut and program in one visit, often for about half the dealer's price. When a model truly needs the dealer, we say so before you book.
