What to do first
Before you call anyone, check the usual places once more: jacket pockets, the bottom of a backpack, the car seats if you can see through the window, and the last place you parked. If the key is inside the car, you only need a car lockout, which is faster and cheaper.
If it's really gone, don't pay for a tow yet. Call (352) 450-0512 with:
- The car's year, make and model (the VIN helps too).
- Where the car is right now — an address, a parking garage and level, or a trailhead lot.
- Whether it's a regular key or a push-to-start smart key.
We'll confirm we can make the key for that car and give you the price before a technician heads out.
How we make a key from nothing
- Check ownership. A driver's license plus registration, title or a rental agreement. It protects you — nobody else can order a key for your car.
- Open the car without damage if it's locked.
- Get the cut. We decode the door lock or use the key code, then cut the blade on the machine in our van.
- Program the key. We connect to the car and program the transponder chip or smart key so the car will start.
- Test everything — start, locks, remote buttons, trunk — before we leave.
Why not the dealer?
With no key, the car can't be driven to a dealership, so the dealer route usually means a tow, a service appointment and sometimes waiting days for a key to be ordered. We do the same job where the car sits — in an apartment lot off Archer Road, in a driveway in Newberry, or at a spring parking lot outside High Springs — often for about half the dealer's price.
