When to rekey
- You bought or moved into a home. You don't know how many copies of the old keys are out there.
- A lease starts or ends. Former tenants and roommates keep copies more often than they admit.
- A key was lost or stolen, especially with your address on the key ring.
- You want one key for the front door, back door and garage instead of three.
How much it costs
Rekeying starts at $59 per lock. A deadbolt and a knob on the same door count as two locks. Tell us how many locks you have and the brand, if you know it, and we'll give you the total on the phone.
New subdivisions and HOA homes
In the newer communities around Avalon Park, Eastwood, Lake Pickett and Oviedo, builders and contractors often used construction keys or kept copies. If you're the first owner or just bought a resale home, rekeying on move-in day is the simplest way to make sure only your keys work.
